Hello again..another birthday weekend.

Well almost. Hello Ant, if you are here in Melbourne, you will be having Golden Fields dinner with us tonight. Hehehe...Tonight the girls organized dinner for me at Andrew McConnell's fairly new restaurant, Golden Fields. (the chef who brought Cumulus Inc and Culter & Co as well). Hopefully the experience is better than Culter & Co and as good or even better than Cumulus Inc.

Besides a great catch up with old friends tonight, I am trying to have a quiet relaxing weekend. But honestly, it is failing quite badly. I have a whole list of things to do. I did some 'spring' cleaning today. Chucking out old dvds and vcds (ah yes, gone are the days of 2 discs.. but I still have some). And after our camp meeting last night, I have a long list of things to do - emails to send, people to remind and schedules to update. Mehhh... I am so reluctant to do them which is why I resorted to some time-wasting task, like blogging. *Grin*..

Ahhhh the difficult week at work has passed. Hopefully it will get better from Monday onwards. I was deskless, computerless and phoneless for almost a week. It's because the movers have transported all my things across to my new desk but my colleague and I were given the tasks of handing out keys and helping people clean and unpack. And guess what... we also received abuse and 101 questions from frustrated people. Moving is a very stressful period of people which is why I can totally understand why they reacted that way. The typical trend of anger is, 'I KNOW IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT BUT I AM SO ANGRY. I SHOULDN'T BE SHOOTING THE MESSENGER. WHY IS MY KEYS NOT READY YET. WHY IS MY BOX LOST'. My colleague and I have this code between us now. We look at each other as if to assure ourselves that it will soon be over. You just become super duper thick skinned after a while.

This week we have also discovered something. PHD students are super annoying. Well most of them at least. And I really think studying too much can do weird things to your brain. I reckon it's more like Permanent Head Damage. There were a couple of silly instances of PHD students coming up to us asking us for the most silly thing. There were also two trying to figure out how to work the microwave. O M G...!

Ahhh but overall my job is still great. I think some of the things that keep me going is my colleagues. I have the best team ever. Everyone is helpful and willing to drop everything to help each other out. They also bought me some red velvet cupcakes for my bday last Friday. And I work with some of the nicest academics (although they are some pain in the backside ones), but overall they are really nice. One of them whom I have gotten on pretty well likes to ask me, 'When is your boyfriend going to propose ar!?' He's Indonesian Chinese who married a Thai Chinese wife. He was on the phone with his wife yesterday when I was sorting out his keys for him and when he put down the phone he said that he was on the phone with the master! Hahaha... He even asked me to go back to study part time, take up MBA or something. I said I had enough of study. Maybe it's because of the laziness or fear of being 'poor'. At the moment, I don't think I can take anymore study. :)

Ok, I think I have enough of procastinating. Time to get back to workiework... camp camp campppppppppppppppppppp....
